I dont understand how you can say my country has never been truely free is it any different to your country in all honesty. And before you go on a masive speel about the civil war and your fight for freedom. Have you not a government that governs you and gives you laws and rules to live by. We might be a colony but the Queen no longer governs this colony we make our own laws and rules as we see fit.We also fought in both World wars also for our freedom.

Now as for Medicare it has been implemented in Australia for around 30 years and has been extremly succesfull a small tax of 1.5% for people who earn over $50,000 and couples over $80,000. My country isnt the only one who has implemented succesfull universal healthcare systems either. And we have been in a budget surplus for the last 8 yrs or so and while other economies have suffered hugely from the economic downturn our country has only just suffered its first quarter of negative growth and that was the lowest of the 7 world leaders at only .5%. So i fail to see how our mediacl system has caused all the so called issues for my childern or my grandchildren as my countries economy is in way better shape then “The land of the free”
